The current flag of Paraguay was adopted in 2013, however very similar designs date back to 1842. The flags colours are similar in design to that of the Netherlands which is believed to represent liberty and independence. The flag has the coat of arms in the centre.

The flag has a white strip on the side with two metal eyelets.
